Immunosuppressants are drugs that weaken, or suppress, the immune system.  Some of these drugs are used to prevent rejection of an organ transplant (called anti-rejection drugs).  Other immunosuppressants are used to treat autoimmune disorders such as lupus, psoriasis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
